Partners
Allan Sim
Allan has been with the Firm for most of his business life since moving from one of the Big Four as long ago as 1976. His main responsibilities are the management of the Firm and developing the non-corporate business advisory service. However, many of his clients are also in the corporate, charity and not-for-profit sectors.
He managed a large not-for-profit organisation for over twenty five years on behalf of the Firm and he has an active interest as treasurer or trustee in a number of charities. His main interests, when not involved in Firm matters, are music, rugby, football, computers and Sudoku.
David Miller
David trained with the Firm and became a partner in 1985. Apart from heading up the tax department, he enjoys using his unrivalled networking skills to generate new business for the Firm.
He is an avid golfer, acts as treasurer of a large national charity and he is a member of the High Constables of Edinburgh.
Ross McKay
Ross became a partner in 2001, having joined the Firm from another Edinburgh practice in 1996. Like the other partners, Ross covers the entire spectrum of business and personal advice and includes the Firm’s largest client in his portfolio. He is responsible for the corporate and audit department.
He is honorary treasurer of the local golf club and has a real interest in west Edinburgh matters, having stayed in Corstorphine all his life.
Jeff Morren
Jeff is the most recent addition to the partnership, having joined after thirteen years with another Edinburgh firm. He has the same ‘personal service’ ethos as his fellow partners and his arrival strengthens the team at both personal and corporate levels.
His non-business time is largely spent with his young family.
Client Managers
However, large or small, every one of our clients will have a client manager as well as a partner for a contact. They are dedicated to assisting the partners in providing the regular link which is required, especially for businesses who do not have the in-house support which is required to ensure compliance, provide on-going advice and generally act as a sounding board.
Most of them are qualified CA’s or the equivalent but, above all, they provide the blend of youth and experience required to give clients sound advice tinged with a bit of imagination and even innovation.
Although they are not pigeon-holed and will rather take an overall view of your business or personal affairs, they are grouped together below according to their specialist area of work, our specialist payroll team is also noted;
